Overview:The Database Architect/Management V will play a critical leadership role in expanding the KP Medical Foundation (KPMF) data framework to support National Therapies data infrastructure and reporting. This role is responsible for architecting and scaling cross-market data pipelines, building a unified data environment aligned with KPMF engineering standards, and enabling advanced analytics to support Access, Utilization, and Capacity Planning. The position will also contribute to designing and implementing data patterns that accelerate AI/ML and advanced analytics capabilities.
Job Summary:This individual contributor is primarily responsible for driving strategic data-informed decisions, driving efforts to ensure data and resources are available to users in an orderly and secure way through data provisioning and ongoing security, and analyzing and developing database designs, data models, and relational data definitions in support of systems requirements. This position provides ongoing database support, maintenance, and troubleshooting, drives data strategy efforts, and designs, implements, and automates business and reporting solutions.

- Designs, implements, and automates business and reporting solutions by partnering with stakeholders to advise in their design, planning, and implementation while ensuring consistency and coherency; evaluating and summarizing data and results; creating summary statistics; designing data reports, visualizations, and/or interactive Business Intelligence (BI) reports; reporting to stakeholders on key findings; identifying needs for the development and implementation of additional reporting solutions; and preparing documentation as appropriate.
- Drives efforts to ensure data and resources are available to users in an orderly and secure way through data provisioning and ongoing security by translating business analytics needs into data access requirements; creating, preparing, and enabling systems to provide data to users; granting users access to data repositories or systems, applications, and databases based on a unique user identity; managing and monitoring data access on an ongoing basis; tracking and documenting version control; designing and generating tracking and monitoring tools; tracking and reporting on data access; and ensuring data provisioning efforts adhere to IT compliance standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provides ongoing database support, maintenance, and troubleshooting by identifying and fixing problems; locating and correcting oversights; ensuring the database meets expectations; identifying trends in the database users; ensuring optimized database performance; recommending new ways to improve the existing database; and scheduling times for upgrades and repairs for minimal impact to the company.
- Drives strategic data-informed decisions by consulting with clients and leadership to identify and clarify key business needs across functional areas, business and/or clinical lines; developing outcomes and process measures; translating business requirements; determining data/information needs and data collection methods; developing complex analysis plans; evaluating the impact of business decisions on clients, customers, and/or members; partnering with clients and staff to identify opportunities and methods to improve efficiencies with analysis; supporting and training end-users; and documenting processes and deliverables.
- Analyzes and develops database designs, data models, and relational data definitions in support of systems requirements by assessing the current data infrastructure; identifying areas in need of change; determining how the database should look and function; scoping the database using the ETL Architecture Standards; developing code to create the database; creating database security standards; and testing and maintaining data integrity across multiple internal and/or external databases.
- Drives data strategy efforts by ensuring proper identification and representation of content; determining optimal data storage methodologies; ensuring data are packaged in a way to be reused and shared; developing and ensuring adherence to data rules and access guidelines; determining best strategy for combining data residing in disparate systems into a unified, consistent data view; and establishing, managing, and communicating information policies and mechanisms for effective data usage.

Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum three (3) years experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
- Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Social/Physical/Life Science, Business, or related field and Minimum eight (8) years experience in database configuration, architecture or management, or a directly related field. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:- Three (3) years experience working with Excel.
