Job Description:

• The Mid-Level SQL DBA will provide hands-on administration, development, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup/recovery, performance tuning, patching, automation, security, HA/DR, ServiceNow, and operational support for GPO SQL Server and SQL Cluster environments.
• This position must demonstrate independent DBA II capability rather than simply executing instructions or runbooks.

Rolle & Responsibilities:

The Mid-Level SQL DBA shall:

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Administer and support SQL Cluster environments.
• Build and configure standalone SQL databases.
• Develop and execute SQL scripts.
• Design and automate repeatable provisioning/configuration.
• Support the solicitation's complete required database technology environment.
• Design backup/recovery processes and perform DR/PITR testing.
• Implement and test HA failovers.
• Plan and lead SQL Server patching and maintenance cycles.
• Conduct systematic SQL performance tuning using metrics.
• Tune monitoring alerts and build operational dashboards.
• Implement security, encryption, and auditing controls.
• Develop robust scripting and database automation.
• Lead assigned troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis activities.
• Perform SQL Server and SQL Cluster error triage and configuration.
• Manage ServiceNow requests/tickets through closeout.
• Execute assigned RFCs.
• Perform proactive capacity planning and system-health monitoring using Idera/SolarWinds.
• Troubleshoot SQL, Oracle, MS Access, and application-level integrations as necessary.
• Contribute to required weekly reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s in IT, computer science or relevant field. Strong SQL Server and SQL Cluster administration with DBA II-level expertise in backup/recovery, DR/PITR, performance tuning, HA/DR, patching, monitoring, security, automation, ServiceNow, troubleshooting and RCA.

Required Experience:

• 5 years minimum in database administration.

Certifications:

• Professional SQL certification required.
