Business Planning Manager, Pricing & Data Science

THE ROLE:

The AECG Pricing & Profitability team is seeking an individual contributor Business Planning Manager, Pricing & Data Science, to own pricing optimization and drive high-impact data science ML & AI initiatives that optimize processes and tools which support faster, smarter deals. This role will independently own price modeling and deal scoring while also contributing to the team's overall Pricing and Profitability business goals which include AI initiatives and Margin Expansion. This is a high impact role that will translate data into actionable insights that inform the business and shape decisions which materially improve profitability and operational efficiency.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate brings experience in price modeling, ML/AI, and the ability to scope, execute, and deliver complex initiatives through compelling storytelling which influences business decisions and helps achieve organizational goals. They have a results-oriented bias for action, are a strong communicator who thrives in solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own the end-to-end development and deployment of ML/AI based pricing models designed to improve margins and increase operation efficiencies
  • Operationalize models in production environments and ensure ongoing monitoring, recalibration, and performance tracking
  • Produce forward-looking insights articulating trade-offs, risks, and upside potential
  • Conduct structured scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, competitive pricing and market analysis to identify gaps and opportunities
  • Define KPI frameworks and success metrics for pricing initiatives to track trends in margin, pricing, discount effectiveness, deal quality, and quote cycle times
  • Manage the deal scoring framework, supporting pricing governance and quote approval workflows
  • Proactively surface trends, risks, and opportunities for senior stakeholders

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong proficiency in Python (preferred), R, and SQL; Excel as a business enablement tool
  • Experience translating complex models into explainable, auditable insights suitable for executive audiences
  • Experience with pricing, profitability, or revenue management; Familiarity with CPQ, quote-to-cash or Deal Desk processes.
  • Power BI or similar

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance

Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid)
