Cloud Service Enablement Support- Enhancing cloud service adoption through risk assessment, compliance oversight, and control validation.
Platform Controls Design & Implementation Support- Designing, documenting, and implementing cloud platform controls to ensure alignment with enterprise risk, audit, and compliance standards.
Role OverviewThe Cloud Compliance Engineer provides comprehensive
risk management and compliance support for cloud environments. This includes identifying risks, documenting and evaluating controls, and ensuring ongoing compliance. The engineer partners closely with business lines and technology teams to embed risk management practices into daily operational processes. The role also serves as a consultative resource supporting audits, examinations, and inquiries.
Top Responsibilities (5-10 Detailed Tasks)Identify, assess, and document cloud-related risks across AWS and/or Azure environments.Design, implement, and execute monitoring controls to mitigate business and technology risk.Evaluate existing control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend remediations.Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies, cloud governance frameworks, and industry standards.Collaborate with business lines and technology teams to integrate risk management practices into daily operations.Maintain documentation for controls, processes, risks, and remediation activities.Promote awareness of risk management principles and provide guidance on control expectations.Respond to internal and external audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries regarding cloud controls.Serve as a subject-matter advisor for cloud compliance, cloud platform controls, and secure architecture requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at maturing cloud governance and compliance capabilities.Required Skills & Experience- 7-8 years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
- Strong understanding of:
- Cloud compliance frameworks
- Cloud security controls
- Governance, risk & compliance (GRC) practices
- Monitoring and control implementation
- Experience collaborating with risk, audit, security, and cloud engineering teams
Preferred Skills & Certifications(Not required but highly desired)
- Cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- CISSP, CISM, or CISA or other industry-recognized security/risk certifications
- Experience in cloud governance or cloud platform engineering
