Network Architect
Length of Assignment: 11+ months
Location: Local to Frisco, TX -Must be onsite 3 days per week

Role Summary
Our client is seeking a Sr. Network Architect to lead the modernization and expansion of enterprise-wide network infrastructure supporting over 300 locations across North America. The company is going through a merger at the same time as a divesture. This senior-level role will focus on large-scale SD-WAN deployments, Wi-Fi modernization in warehouse and distribution environments, and network transformation initiatives that drive security, scalability, and automation. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with a strong strategic mindset, deep network engineering knowledge, and experience leading high-performing teams.
Day to Day
In this role, this resource will architect and lead the implementation of SD-WAN solutions across hundreds of distributed sites, including corporate offices, manufacturing plants, and distribution centers. This resource will own the network modernization roadmap, overseeing efforts related to SD-LAN, cloud network integration, and infrastructure automation. Working closely with engineering and procurement teams, this individual will select and deploy key technologies such as Cisco switches and wireless access points, as well as Palo Alto firewalls. This resource will ensure optimal Wi-Fi performance in warehouse and distribution environments while developing and maintaining comprehensive network documentation, standards, and implementation plans. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align network strategy with broader IT and business goals, while also mentoring engineering teams and ensuring enterprise-grade network reliability and security.
Must
Hands-on experience with SD-WAN and SD-LAN technologies across multi-site, distributed networks (300+ locations ideal)
Deep experience with Cisco wireless and switching technologies, especially in warehouse and distribution center environments
Demonstrated ability to design, document, and implement scalable, high-availability network solutions
Proven track record leading network transformation projects with complex technical and operational requirements
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and secure network architecture principles
Strong documentation and communication skills; able to translate complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote environment, leading technical initiatives across diverse teams
Plus
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid network architectures
Familiarity with network automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code
Advanced certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, or relevant cloud networking certifications
Background in AI-driven networking tools, observability platforms, or network-as-code frameworks
Prior manufacturing industry experience
