Position Description:
Required Education:
• High School DIploma
Required Skills:
• Experience troubleshooting on vehicles (heavy-duty technician or service writer/advisor background preferred)
• Proven success with technical problem solving
• Experience working with engines
• Past experience working for a corporation
• Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• Ability to use engineering tools like Calterm (to download ECM software and calibrations) — noted as "in collaboration with support from Cummins Columbus team
Job Responsibilities:
• Vehicle Support: Development powertrain system support and troubleshooting including hardware, software, controls, and electronic systems level troubleshooting
• Issue Troubleshooting & Resolution:
o Following troubleshooting trees independently where available, or using engineering judgment to diagnose issues
o Working with technicians to carry out investigation & resolution
o Tracking issues with clear documentation of outcomes
o Communicating plans and outcomes with engineers, techs, and customers
o Utilize Calterm and other engineering tools to download ECM software and calibrations (in collaboration with Cummins Columbus team)
o Participate and support Vehicle Validation activities (collecting data, overriding engine conditions, addressing and documenting validation issues)
o Utilize existing documentation paths for issue tracking
o Create new communications or documentation methods based on scope of work
