Job Title: Security Systems Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Engineer in Lenel with hands-on expertise in Lenel OnGuard Access Control Systems and Microsoft SQL Server Administration. The role involves managing and troubleshooting the Lenel platform and its associated databases, ensuring system availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications;
- The design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications
- Administer and maintain Lenel OnGuard Access Control Systems.
- Manage access control panels, cardholders, doors, access levels, and alarm monitoring.
- Troubleshoot Lenel application, hardware, network, and integration issues.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting Lenel.
- Perform database backup, restore, recovery, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor SQL performance and troubleshoot queries, blocking, and database issues.
- Manage database security, user permissions, jobs, and scheduled tasks.
- Ensure database availability, integrity, and optimal performance.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard administration.
- Good practical experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration.
- Knowledge of SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Windows Server, networking, and application-to-database connectivity.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in Lenel administration and SQL Server support.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Lenel OnGuard and Microsoft SQL certifications are an added advantage.
Mandatory Requirement
Hands-on experience in Lenel OnGuard administration and strong SQL Server DBA skills are mandatory. Candidates with only basic SQL query knowledge will not be suitable for this role.
