The Gund Company has an immediate opening at our Waukesha, WI facility for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our dynamic sales team!
***This is NOT a Software or IT Sales Role***

Work Schedule: Hybrid

Work Location: 809 Phillip Drive, Waukesha, WI 53186

Compensation: Negotiable with unlimited commissions!

Travel: 25% (5 days/Month)

Markets: Electronics, Switchgear, Transformer, Metals, Motor

Territory: Midwest US

Types of Accounts: $5-8 million high potential medium and large accounts (100+ accounts in total)

Training and Development Program: 5-6 month rotation with assigned mentors

Job Summary

The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for the proactive development of customer relationships and sales generation by understanding and maximizing customer and prospective product and service requirements. The position manages the order acquisition process for assigned customers while pursuing opportunities for expanding sales volume, delivering consultative technical solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Build relationships with T customer base to fully understand the customers' requirements, communicate them to our production team, and determine our opportunities to earn additional business.
  • Function as technical subject matter expert regarding customer applications by effectively communicating how our products and services can best satisfy their requirements.
  • Identify new prospective applications for our products by understanding customer requirements and our product capabilities.
  • Heavy customer/prospect communication required via the telephone. Proactive Sales and Service Calls are a key part of the monthly job requirement.
  • Utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software tool to develop, document, and follow up on customer opportunities in a consistent and disciplined manner.


Requirements:

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical science discipline, required.
  • 2-5 years' experience as a sales engineer, applications engineer, or inside sales, preferred.
  • Fluent English communication, required.
  • Strong and extroverted interpersonal communication skills to maximize customer interactions.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking to identify and implement strategies that create competitive advantage in the market.
  • Ability to utilize a CRM package and other tools to manage the sales process.
  • Excellent computer skills.
