Manager, AI Engineering & AIOps Strategy

Introduction

We are seeking a Manager, AI Engineering & AIOps Strategy to help shape and drive enterprise AI initiatives across a large-scale technology organization. This role will focus on identifying opportunities for AI, Generative AI, intelligent agents, and automation to create measurable business value while helping teams successfully move solutions from concept to production.

This is a strategic leadership role that combines AI roadmap development, AI productization, governance, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has experience leading AI/ML initiatives, partnering with executive stakeholders, and guiding engineering teams through the deployment of scalable AI solutions.

What You'll Do

• Define and execute AI, Generative AI, and AIOps roadmaps aligned with business objectives
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI agents, predictive analytics, automation, and GenAI across technology and operations portfolios
• Partner with business and technology leaders to prioritize AI investments and establish execution plans
• Lead the transition of AI solutions from proof of concept to scalable production deployments
• Establish governance frameworks, operating procedures, and success metrics for AI-enabled products
• Guide engineering teams on AI/ML architecture, GenAI applications, RAG solutions, orchestration frameworks, and cloud-native deployments
• Drive MLOps and AIOps best practices, including deployment pipelines, monitoring, observability, and model governance
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to accelerate AI adoption
• Communicate strategy, progress, and business outcomes to executive stakeholders
• Mentor and support technical teams while helping establish scalable delivery and prioritization processes

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, platform engineering, cloud transformation, or technology leadership
• 3+ years leading teams or enterprise AI/ML initiatives
• Experience building AI, GenAI, or machine learning roadmaps and bringing solutions into production
• Strong understanding of MLOps and AIOps, including deployment, observability, governance, and lifecycle management
• Experience working within AWS cloud environments (SageMaker, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, Step Functions, or similar services)
• Familiarity with Generative AI technologies, including RAG architectures, AI agents, and orchestration frameworks
• Understanding of APIs, distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and platform enablement
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving business, product, and engineering stakeholders
• Strong communication and executive stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise AI transformation programs
• Experience establishing AI governance and Responsible AI practices
• Familiarity with AI Centers of Excellence and enterprise operating models
• Experience with modern AI frameworks and deployment ecosystems

Compensation & Benefits

• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Location: Remote (EST or CST preferred)
• Duration: 6-month contract with strong potential for extension
• Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
• Pay Range: $65-$75 per hour (W2)

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
