Work Arrangement: Onsite
Start Date: Immediately

Innovar Group is seeking a Safety Specialist to support active data center construction projects in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career safety professional who wants to build hands-on experience within the fast-growing mission-critical construction industry.

The Safety Specialist will work directly in the field, supporting jobsite safety programs, conducting inspections, assisting with training and incident investigations, and helping ensure employees and subcontractors follow OSHA, general contractor, and site-specific safety requirements.

This role can be a strong fit for a recent college graduate or someone with approximately one to three years of safety experience who has a strong work ethic and is eager to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily safety talks and review upcoming job tasks with field teams.

  • Identify potential jobsite hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.

  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across assigned construction areas.

  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, project safety plans, and general contractor requirements.

  • Provide safety orientations for new employees arriving at the project site.

  • Assist with safety training related to fall protection, emergency response, hazard recognition, personal protective equipment, and other jobsite topics.

  • Review tools, equipment, and work practices to verify they are appropriate for the assigned task.

  • Support incident and near-miss investigations, including documentation, root-cause review, and corrective-action follow-up.

  • Deliver safety documentation, audit results, and required information to the general contractor.

  • Work with project managers, superintendents, foremen, employees, subcontractors, and vendors to improve site safety.

  • Address unsafe work practices directly and professionally.

  • Help develop and maintain site-specific safety and training plans.

  • Support clinic visits, substance-abuse testing, and claims-related activities when required.

  • Maintain accurate and inspection-ready safety records.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

  • At least one year of professional safety experience.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and general construction safety practices.

  • Ability to recognize workplace hazards and recommend corrective measures.

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to address unsafe behavior.

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to three years of safety experience within construction, industrial, mechanical, electrical, or mission-critical environments.

  • Previous experience supporting data center construction projects.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • CPR, First Aid, AED, or bloodborne-pathogen training.

  • Experience conducting employee orientations, jobsite audits, or incident investigations.

Work Environment

This position supports a small field safety team and operates with indirect supervision. The Safety Specialist will spend most of the day onsite and must be comfortable interacting with field crews, walking active construction areas, and responding quickly when safety concerns arise.

All current work is located in Cheyenne, with the potential to support additional data center projects in the area.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Enter or continue building a career in data center construction safety.

  • Gain hands-on experience on large, complex mission-critical projects.

  • Work alongside experienced safety and construction leaders.

  • Receive structured training and opportunities for professional development.

  • Potential for overtime and increased weekly earnings.

  • Immediate interview process consisting of one panel interview, with hiring decisions expected quickly.
