Summary

This is a remote position.

ob Summary

Design, implement, administer, and support enterprise messaging infrastructure built on IBM MQ.
Expertise in configuring and maintaining highly available messaging environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting mission-critical applications across distributed and mainframe platforms.
This role requires close collaboration with application development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance messaging services.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, administer, and upgrade IBM MQ Queue Managers across z/OS environments.
Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for IBM MQ.
Configure and maintain MQ clustering and multi-instance queue managers.
Implement SSL/TLS encryption, channel authentication (CHLAUTH), and authentication mechanisms.
Monitor MQ environments for availability, performance, and capacity.
Perform MQ migrations, upgrades, and patching with minimal downtime.
Develop operational documentation and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Eight years of IBM MQ administration experience.
IBM MQ on z/OS environments
Must have experience in security with RACF or Top Secret
Experience supporting enterprise messaging environments.
Strong knowledge of:

IBM MQ 9.x
Queue Manager administration
MQ Clustering
Channel configuration
Message routing
Publish/Subscribe messaging

Experience with scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking.
Experience with SSL/TLS certificate management.
Familiarity with High Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures.
