Job Title: Senior Robotics Software Engineer (C++ / Linux / ROS)
Location: Clayton, NC - Hybrid
Duration: 12+ Months W2 Contract


We are hiring a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable autonomy software systems for next-generation autonomous platforms. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on perception, planning, localization, control, and platform software for real-world autonomous systems.

Required Skills:
  • 8+ years of software development experience in Robotics / Autonomous Systems / Real-Time Systems
  • Strong expertise in C++ and proficiency in Python
  • Deep understanding of Linux-based development
  • Experience with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization
  • Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 or similar robotics middleware
  • Experience with LiDAR, Camera, Radar, Sensor Fusion, or Perception Systems
  • Familiarity with Motion Planning, Mapping, Localization, or Control Algorithms
  • Experience with Simulation, HIL/SIL, CI/CD, and distributed systems
Responsibilities:
  • Lead architecture and development of autonomy software components
  • Translate research prototypes into production-grade software
  • Collaborate with AI/ML, Robotics, Controls, and Systems teams
  • Drive software integration with sensors, actuators, CAN/Ethernet networks
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical leadership
  • Debug and resolve complex issues across simulation and field deployments
  • Improve software quality, scalability, and maintainability
Preferred Background:
  • Autonomous Vehicles / Robotics / Industrial Automation
  • Off-highway, Construction, Mining, Automotive, or Edge Computing environments
  • Knowledge of safety-oriented development and reliability engineering
