Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AI/OCR Engineer to develop and improve solutions for fax digitization and document processing. The role focuses on reducing manual fax processing, improving document recognition accuracy, and developing scalable production solutions using OCR technologies, Python, SQL, and cloud tools.

The ideal candidate should combine strong technical expertise with excellent business communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve OCR solutions for digitizing incoming faxes.

• Work with LLM-based OCR, cloud OCR services, and traditional tools such as Tesseract.

• Handle handwritten documents, poor-quality faxes, image artifacts, and data validation.

• Develop, deploy, and maintain production-grade applications.

• Use Python and SQL for data processing, validation, and application development.

• Identify OCR limitations and recommend improvements to accuracy and performance.

• Collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to understand business challenges.

• Evaluate business and technical trade-offs and drive solutions from concept to implementation.

• Identify opportunities to reduce fax-related costs through process improvements and automation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience in AI, OCR, or software engineering.

• Strong hands-on experience with OCR technologies, including Tesseract, LLMs, and cloud OCR tools.

• Experience processing handwritten and poor-quality documents.

• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

• Experience developing and maintaining production applications.

• Strong business acumen and stakeholder communication skills.

• Ability to independently manage ambiguous projects and drive end-to-end delivery.
