Job Description The Data Governance & Analytics Specialist drives the operational success of the enterprise data governance program by combining policy implementation with hands-on data analysis. This role bridges the gap between technology infrastructure and business requirements. The ideal candidate does not just manage data policies from a high level, but actively writes queries, profiles datasets, and uses analytical tools to investigate data quality issues, map data lineage, and ensure corporate data assets are trusted, secure, and compliant.
Type of RecruitmentKnowledge, skills and abilities - Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for data profiling, ad-hoc querying, and database exploration (Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in building data quality dashboards and operational reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Solid grasp of data warehousing principles and data modeling concepts (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Strong problem-solving abilities to trace and analyze data issues across complex system architectures.
- Ability to translate complex data profiles and technical structures into clear business language.
- High precision in writing technical documentation, analyzing data outputs, and drafting data policies.
Special licenses, registration or certification Education or trainingLevel and type of experience - Working experience combining data governance, data stewardship, technical data analysis, or data quality management.
- Working experience with data governance tools (Alation, Collibra, Purview, Informatica, or DataGalaxy).

- Certified Information CIMP (Data Governance or Data Quality track) or foundational data analyst certifications.
Conditions of Employment This is a
remote position, requiring a traditional 40-hour work week. Computer equipment will be supplied for remote work; high-speed internet is the responsibility of the employee.
- The equipment provided to staff with approved telework agreements enables them to deliver vital services to University faculty, staff, and students from remote locations.
- Many of our operations can and should continue as usual, even when the main physical campus is closed.
- Therefore, all division employees with an approved telework agreement are generally expected to work during official University closures.
Should travel be required, budgetary constraints may limit where the successful candidate can reside. In addition, existing payroll limitations on locations a remote employee may work from could limit the selection of the final candidate.
This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary range between $ - $55,000-$60,000
