Summary

Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Location: Torrington, CT
The Industrial Engineer Product Data & BOM Management (Bill of Material) / Configuration Management is responsible for owning and maintaining accurate, structured, and manufacturing ready product data across the full product lifecycle. This role assesses planned changes and orchestrates required updates to company processes, systems, and manufacturing data systems (such as Bill of Material and Item settings) accordingly for the entire product / system.
Acting as a liaison between Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Accounting, Service, and IT, this position ensures all teams are prepared for product changes. The engineer will also assist efforts during the scale-up and expansion of manufacturing at our Torrington, CT facility. And the location is also in Torrington, CT.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the structure, accuracy, and governance of the Module BOM, Electrical Balance of Plant (EBOP) BOM, the Mechanical Balance of Plant (EBOP) BOMs, and service/as built BOMs.
  • Implement the BOMs into D365 ERP system.
  • Maintain awareness of potential and planned engineering and vendor product updates, assessing each for impact on Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Cost Accounting, and Service.
  • Direct the process, system, and manufacturing data systems updates needed to accommodate planned changes, helping to ensure continuous operations, quality, and cost efficiencies.
  • Enforce change control protocols and ensure the accuracy of operations Bill of Materials and Item settings and their readiness to support procurement, production, and financial planning and execution.
  • Lead and Assess operational BOM and Item configurations and the execution of improvements that will improve efficiency, drive automation, reduce risks, embrace best-practices, and enable scale-up.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration and provide continuous direction and support to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Cost Accounting, and Service teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with material/process changes, scale-up activities, and systems improvement projects.
  • Help resolve issues and ensure proper use and alignment to company standard operating procedures.
  • Define and guide the implementation of needed metrics, process controls, reporting, and continuous improvement roadmap conforming to Lean best practice.
  • Maintain process documentation and assist with organizational transitions.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 plus years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or configuration management.
  • Hands on experience with ERP and/or PLM systems (D365 preferred).
  • Ability to determine how operations, environments, and systems interacts.
  • Advanced knowledge of systems, tools, and solutions for productivity.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or production environment.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • Understanding of technical documentation and blueprints.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, routings, and cost roll ups.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and cross functional communication skills.
  • Customer-focused approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Detailed-orientated to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude with the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
