Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the platform engineering team at Spotify. The team builds internal platforms that help engineers deploy and scale services reliably across the organization.

The role focuses on building backend services and Kubernetes-based deployment systems that enable developers to release code faster and operate services efficiently at large scale.

You will contribute to Gantry, Spotify s next-generation deployment platform designed to simplify infrastructure management, support monorepo migration, and improve developer productivity across thousands of services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Golang

• Build and operate Kubernetes operators and cloud-native services

• Extend deployment platform capabilities and support service migrations

• Work with internal engineering teams to troubleshoot deployment issues

• Build automation and developer tooling to improve deployment workflows

• Contribute to AI-powered tools that assist with migrations and troubleshooting

• Take ownership of platform services and ensure reliability at scale

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Golang / Go development

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and cloud-native systems

• Experience building distributed systems or microservices

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, or ArgoCD

• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred)

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python

• Experience building AI/LLM-powered tools or developer automation

• Experience working with large-scale infrastructure platforms
