IT Project Manager / Scrum Master – Healthcare Claims

Role overview
We are seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager with hands-on Scrum Master experience to lead large-scale, complex programs within a healthcare payer environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong command of both traditional PM disciplines and Agile/Scrum frameworks, along with meaningful exposure to healthcare claims processes.
What you''ll do
• Own end-to-end project planning, execution, and delivery across multiple workstreams
• Serve as Scrum Master — facilitate sprint ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives), manage backlogs, and remove impediments
• Drive stakeholder engagement at the senior and executive level, including steering committee reporting
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and vendor/contract relationships
• Develop governance frameworks and maintain rigorous reporting cadence
• Lead change management efforts and ensure delivery accountability across cross-functional teams
• Produce executive-ready presentations and project artifacts
Required qualifications
•7+ years of IT Project Management experience within the healthcare industry (payer, health plan, or managed care preferred)
• Hands-on Scrum Master experience with demonstrated command of Scrum ceremonies and frameworks
• At minimum, a working understanding of healthcare claims processes (submission, adjudication, payment); prior experience with claims platforms, EDI 837/835, or clearinghouse integrations is a strong plus
• Proven track record managing large, complex programs with significant budgets and cross-functional teams
• Expertise in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies — ability to govern hybrid delivery environments
• Strong executive communication and presentation skills
• Experience with vendor and contract management
Nice to have
• CSM, PMI-ACP, or PMP certification
• Direct experience in healthcare claims system migrations or implementations
• Familiarity with HIPAA, HEDIS, or payer compliance frameworks
Location & availability
Fully remote.
Candidates must be available and working during Eastern Time business hours.
