Retail organization ranking in top 200 largest privately owned organizations in United States
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead and mentor for developers and analysts within the Emerging Technologies team.
- Partner with the Enterprise Architect to define technical strategy, architecture standards, and modernization initiatives.
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations and applications using current technologies of .NET Core, Python, Talend, RESTful APIs, Oracle, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Lead POCs and pilot projects for next-generation retail technologies.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new frameworks, platforms, and methodologies that will future-proof Schnucks' technology ecosystem.
- Help define best practices for cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and API governance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technology strategy with operational goals and customer experience initiatives.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of all systems and integrations.
- Foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning across the team.
Experience Requirements:
Required:
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or solution design role.
- Strong experience with:
- .NET Core / C#, Python application development
- Talend or similar ETL/data integration platforms
- RESTful API / Web Services design and development
- Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through deployment, with continued ownership of ongoing production support and application maintenance.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
Preferred / Future-Focused Experience:
