Description:
Position is hybrid in St. Louis 3 days/week

Retail organization ranking in top 200 largest privately owned organizations in United States

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. W2 Pay Rate $70-$80/hr

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the technical lead and mentor for developers and analysts within the Emerging Technologies team.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Architect to define technical strategy, architecture standards, and modernization initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations and applications using current technologies of .NET Core, Python, Talend, RESTful APIs, Oracle, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Lead POCs and pilot projects for next-generation retail technologies.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new frameworks, platforms, and methodologies that will future-proof Schnucks' technology ecosystem.
  • Help define best practices for cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and API governance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technology strategy with operational goals and customer experience initiatives.
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of all systems and integrations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning across the team.


Experience Requirements:
Required:
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or solution design role.
  • Strong experience with:
    • .NET Core / C#, Python application development
    • Talend or similar ETL/data integration platforms
    • RESTful API / Web Services design and development
    • Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
    • Cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
    • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through deployment, with continued ownership of ongoing production support and application maintenance.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
