Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Wire EDM Programmer / Tool & Die Specialist to support our Tool Room by programming, setting up, and operating Wire EDM equipment to manufacture precision tooling and components. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys programming complex parts, working with tight tolerances, and collaborating with toolmakers to build and repair tooling.
Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines.
Create and optimize machining programs using CAD/CAM software.
Manufacture precision tooling components to extremely tight tolerances.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
Support Tool & Die Makers with new tooling builds, repairs, and engineering changes.
Optimize machining strategies to improve efficiency and maximize unattended machining.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot machining issues.
Assist with general Tool Room projects as workload requires.
Qualifications
3+ years of Wire EDM programming and machining experience.
Strong experience with Wire EDM setup and operation.
CAD/CAM programming experience (Esprit, VISI, or similar preferred).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
Experience producing precision tooling, molds, dies, or stamped components.
Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and tight-tolerance manufacturing.
Experience using precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gages.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Journeyman Toolmaker or Tool & Die experience is highly preferred.
