Job Description:LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Survey Engineer to support FAA FMDS work in Egg Harbor, NJ. The Intermediate Survey Engineer will provide knowledge and experience in state-of-the-art hardware electronic components, hardware design, development, and system implementation requirements. This role supports the definition of interactions and interfaces among different categories of requirements and the development of appropriate designs to support mission needs using sound engineering methodologies. This position requires frequent travel as needed to support program requirements.Job Duties & Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to): Provide engineering support for FAA FMDS survey and technical efforts. Support hardware electronic component evaluation, hardware design, development, and system implementation activities. Define interactions and interfaces among various categories of requirements to support technical solutions. Develop appropriate designs in alignment with engineering methodologies and mission requirements. Design, develop, and execute system procedures. Act as a point of contact for evaluation and resolution of problems arising from the interdisciplinary nature of assigned tasks. Advise technical personnel on a broad range of information systems and technical issues. Support reliability engineering, hardware/system design, and related engineering tasks as assigned. Document on-site activities while adhering to FAA requirements and expectations. Coordinate on-site activities with FAA technicians. Provide site trip reports for each facility survey. Perform additional duties in support of FAA program objectives.Qualifications: Required: A successful candidate will have Up to 10 years of relevant engineering experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering Frequent travel Experience in hardware design, development, and/or system implementation Experience with system test and evaluation Strong understanding of engineering methodologies and technical requirements development Ability to define and manage interfaces across multiple technical disciplines Experience serving as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills Ability to work on site in Egg Harbor, NJ Ability to travel as neededPreferred: FAA experience supporting FMDS or related aviation programs. Experience with hardware/system design in mission-critical or regulated environments. Experience advising technical personnel on information systems issues. Prior experience working in government, aviation, or interdisciplinary engineering environmentsWork Requirements: Work location: Egg Harbor, NJ Position is: Remote work permitted. Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment and perform tasks requiring precision. Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required during work activities. Compensation (Pay Bands) Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate.
