Position: EPIC Front-End Developer / Build Analyst

Location: 100% remote (EST hours)

Job description:

Must Haves

• Epic Ambulatory Certification (required)
• 5+ years professional healthcare IT experience supporting Epic Ambulatory build alongside analysts
• 2+ years hands-on experience building Navigators, Nurse Workflows, SmartForm scripting, and CER Rules
• 2+ years hands-on experience configuring Health Maintenance, Reporting Workbench, and Task Builds
• Experience developing Epic technical components based on analyst specifications
• Strong communication skills for working cross-functionally with analysts, informatics, and clinical teams
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Pluses

• Experience with MyChart, Cadence, Healthy Planet, Slicer Dicer
• Understanding of Agile development practices
• Working knowledge of Care Management workflows
• Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, EDI, or healthcare interoperability patterns

Day to Day

• Develop Epic Ambulatory components including SmartForms, CER logic, HM configuration, Navigators, and workflow enhancements
• Partner closely with Epic Ambulatory analysts to understand specifications and translate them into technical build
• Independently design and develop secure, cost-effective healthcare application components aligned to clinical workflows, patientsafety requirements, and regulatory standards (HIPAA, HITECH)
• Enhance performance, reliability, scalability, and functionality for mission-critical areas such as patient data exchange, appointment scheduling, claims processing, and EHR/EMR integration
• Build solutions incorporating interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, EDI), payer workflows, and healthcare data models
• Support production systems: troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, ensure uptime of clinical applications, and participate in oncall rotations
• Follow secure coding practices, audit readiness processes, and structured release/validation steps required in healthcare IT environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analysts, architecture, QA, clinicians, administrators)
• Document build, test steps, changes, and technical logic to meet compliance and audit requirements
