OverviewWe are seeking an FPGA/Digital Design Engineer to support the development, integration, and verification of digital hardware solutions for advanced system applications. This position involves hands-on VHDL development, FPGA tool flows, hardware integration, and test/debug activities. The role requires analytical thinking, proficiency with digital design methodologies, and the ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Minimum 2+ years of engineering experience, including at least one of the following:
- Digital design and VHDL coding
- Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi FPGA devices and associated tool flows
- Delivering FPGA solutions into system-level applications
- Hands-on experience with integration and debug of digital hardware
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (clearance must be active prior to start)
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- FPGA design experience in one or more technical areas:
- Radar processing algorithm implementation
- Image processing for visual or infrared sensors
- Embedded systems design (ARM, MicroBlaze, Nios processors)
- Gigabit and multi-gigabit serial interfaces (MGTs)
- Experience with FPGA verification, including:
- Constrained-random verification in UVM using SystemVerilog
- Verification using emulation platforms (e.g., Veloce)
- Experience with Siemens EDA / Mentor Graphics tools:
- DxDesigner
- xDX Designer VX
- Xilinx Vivado
- Atrix
- Experience with advanced PCB design and simulation tools:
- HyperLynx (signal integrity, power integrity, analog simulation)
- Xpedition Enterprise (xPCB)
- Experience developing complex, multi-layer CCA designs (16-32 layers)
- Experience with Constraint Editor System (CES) for layout and timing constraints
- Knowledge of software or FPGA code development workflow
- Experience leading transitions from development into production
- Demonstrated ability to manage:
- Technical risk
- Schedule risk
- Cost-reduction opportunities
- Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously and working within multidisciplinary design teams
Work Environment- Onsite, highly collaborative engineering environment
- Direct interface with digital design, embedded systems, test, and integration teams
- Involves hands-on lab work and coordination across multiple engineering functions
