Your Opportunity as the Lead Engineer

Help provide quality products consumers count on every day. Work with a collaborative team to get the job done while learning new skills. Serve as Site Progressive Maintenance Pillar Leader and member of Site Senior Leadership Team.

Location: Scottsville, KY

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site
  • Willingness to work extended hours and flow to the work as needed

In this role you will:
  • Perform gap analysis on key production metrics and demonstrate deep understanding of the 7-Step Process
  • Train and coach facilitators for Failure Analysis, 7-Step Process, and other Continuous Improvement Events
  • Own, execute, report on, and can develop department and site Masterplan items.
  • Perform a key role in building fundamental understanding within the operating technicians in pursuit of a high-performance culture
  • Support technical efforts to evaluate and improve processes in manufacturing plant related to safety, quality, production rates, efficiencies, costs, and yield
  • Support and influence the technical development of technicians and engineers
  • Support plant trials including new product and/or equipment commissioning, qualification, and validation
  • Identify, Develop, and Execute cost savings projects
  • Provide technical leadership within cross functional teams to deliver initiatives and projects
  • Employ effective organizational and resource management skills to complete assignments Leads multiple initiatives simultaneously, using best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to drive improvements
  • Build and leverage strong internal/external networks to gain insight, influence, and information
  • Solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify creative and innovative solutions
  • Develop and improve process documentation
  • Help organization stay current with applicable new technologies
  • Support and provide guidance to operations/engineering organizations on evaluation of new production opportunities, improving existing operations, cost-saving ideas, and troubleshooting of major problems
  • Monitor new product trends/competitive trends and activities

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 5 years of experience in process engineering is required
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach and lead others, working independently, with guidance in only the most complicated situations
  • Can support off shift or weekends as needed
  • Open to managing operating teams as needed (as backup or future assignment)

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Industrial preferred
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, and TPM in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with food ingredient chemistry, food processing, and packaging equipment is desirable
  • An understanding of the Capital Delivery Process is desired
