We are looking for a highly skilled AI Engineer to join the team of our exceptional client. This role focuses on building and deploying production-grade Generative AI and machine learning solutions that leverage large language models, clinical data, and advanced analytics to support real-world decision-making.

While the position may be labeled as a Data Scientist, this is fundamentally an AI Engineering role. We are seeking candidates with recent, hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, implementing AI workflows, and deploying production AI systems. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with expertise in Generative AI, NLP, and modern AI development platforms.

What will your day look like?

As an AI Engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions using modern Generative AI technologies

• Build production-ready applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, Gemini, Claude, and open-source models

• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions that combine foundation models with enterprise data sources

• Apply prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and context engineering techniques to optimize model performance

• Create AI-powered workflows that support information extraction, decision support, and intelligent automation

• Develop and maintain machine learning pipelines using Python, Databricks, MLflow, and related technologies

• Work with structured and unstructured data sources, including electronic records, clinical information, and other data-intensive systems

• Implement natural language processing (NLP) solutions for extracting insights from text-based data

• Build scalable AI workflows utilizing embeddings, vector search, hybrid retrieval, and knowledge-enriched architectures

• Partner with domain experts, engineers, and data teams to transform business challenges into AI-driven solutions

• Create explainable and trustworthy AI solutions that support business and operational decision-making

• Collaborate within Agile teams while maintaining thorough documentation, experiment tracking, and version control practices

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve engineering productivity

You will be a good fit for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience developing AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions

• Strong Python development experience with production-grade coding practices

• Recent hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications

• Experience working with foundation models such as GPT, Gemini, Claude, or open-weight models

• Experience implementing Generative AI workflows in production environments

• Strong understanding of NLP concepts and text-based AI applications

• Experience building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions

• Experience with prompt engineering, model evaluation, and LLM optimization techniques

• Experience working with large and distributed datasets

• Strong software engineering skills, including version control, testing, and collaborative development practices

• Experience with Git, pull requests, and code review workflows

• Knowledge of machine learning workflows, model deployment, monitoring, and operationalization

• Ability to independently design, build, and support AI solutions from concept through production

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Databricks, MLflow, Spark, or PySpark

• Experience with GraphRAG, knowledge graphs, semantic search, or ontology-based systems

• Experience building AI agents or agentic workflow solutions

• Experience with fine-tuning open-source or open-weight language models

• Named Entity Recognition (NER) and advanced information extraction experience

• Familiarity with healthcare, life sciences, clinical, or EMR-style datasets

• Experience with vector databases and embedding-based retrieval systems

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar coding assistants

• Knowledge of knowledge graph development, semantic web technologies, or ontology frameworks

• Experience developing explainable AI solutions and evaluation frameworks
