Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Finance to support Gas Engineering and regulated operations for a leading energy organization in Downtown Houston. • Utilize SAP for financial data analysis, reporting, and related business processes.

  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure tracking, and financial performance reviews.

  • Identify discrepancies, investigate financial variances, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, FP&A, or a closely related field.

  • Hands-on experience with capital planning, capital budgeting, or CAPEX analysis.

  • Strong experience in financial modeling and financial analysis.

  • Hands-on experience with budget and variance analysis.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP.

  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work onsite in Downtown Houston, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within utilities, energy, natural gas, pipelines, or regulated operations.

  • Experience supporting Gas Engineering or engineering organizations from a finance perspective.

  • Direct experience with rate case preparation, analysis, or regulatory financial support.

  • Experience with utility capital programs and long-term capital planning.

  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering, finance, accounting, and operations teams.

Important Requirements

  • Position is onsite in Downtown Houston, TX.

  • Candidates must have strong hands-on finance/accounting experience aligned with the requirements above.
