Summary
Position : IBM Workload Scheduler Admin
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain IBM Workload Scheduler environments (distributed and mainframe if applicable).
Monitor daily batch schedules, troubleshoot job failures, and ensure timely resolution.
Manage workload definitions, calendars, job streams, and dependencies.
Perform upgrades, patches, and performance tuning of IWS infrastructure.
Implement automation for recurring tasks and optimize scheduling processes.
Collaborate with application teams to onboard new jobs and workflows.
Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
Ensure compliance with IT security and audit requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (TWS/IWS) administration.
Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl) for automation.
Experience with job scheduling concepts (dependencies, calendars, critical path).
Understanding of database systems (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server) used with IWS.
Ability to troubleshoot job failures, logs, and system performance issues.
Good communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Education & Background
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of IT experience with at least 2–3 years in workload scheduling/automation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based scheduling (AWS, Azure, hybrid environments).
Knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines).
Exposure to enterprise monitoring tools (Splunk, Nagios, Dynatrace).
ITIL certification or familiarity with incident/change management processes.
