Application Developer

Job description:
The Application Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting business applications built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. This role works closely with product teams, technical leads, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions that support day-to-day business operations.

In addition to core D365 development, the role involves using modern development tools and AI capabilities, such as Microsoft Copilot, D365 Generative Pages, Copilot Studio, Power Apps AI features, and other generative AI tools, to assist with development, improve user experiences, and support efficient solution delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):

· Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions

· Build and customize forms, tables, cloud flows, and business processes within Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform

· Design and implement AI-enabled features such as:

o Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio integrations

o D365 CE Generative Pages and AI-assisted experiences

o AI-powered automations, insights, and summaries using Power Platform AI capabilities

· Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code

· Package and support deployment of releases, following established DevOps and change management processes.

· Analyze and resolve technical and application issues, leveraging AI tools where appropriate to assist with research and problem-solving

· Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and within scope

· Manage multiple tasks and priorities in an Agile environment

· Contribute to team documentation and continuous improvement efforts

· Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospective

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

Core Competency Requirements (must have these items to be considered)

· Experience building solutions with Power Apps (model-driven and canvas) and Power Automate, including basic to moderate workflows.

· Strong experience with JavaScript customizations on Dynamics 365 forms (form logic, ribbon commands, onChange/onSave events).

· Experience with or strong understanding of:

· D365 Generative Pages and AI-driven user experiences

· Copilot Studio for building conversational and task-based copilots

· Power Platform AI features (AI Builder, intelligent automation, insights)

· Familiarity with generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude, and how they can be used responsibly to support development, documentation, and troubleshooting.

· Ability to test and validate customizations such as forms, views, tables, fields in D365

· Deep understanding of Customer Service and Sales business processes and their implementation in Dynamics 365

· Understanding of Dynamics 365 security roles, business rules, and form design best practices

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

· 2 - 3 years of applicable experience

Preferred:

· Microsoft Certified: PL-900 or similar Power Platform certification.

· Experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines)

· Experience building both model-driven and canvas apps using Power Apps.

· Exposure to Power Platform AI features, Copilot Studio, generative pages, or prompt-based AI workflows.

Education, Training and Experience:

· College or university degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

· Strong communication skills including the ability to translate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to understand user needs

· Solid understanding of how to create scalable and maintainable applications

· Analytical mindset with a focus on user experience and practical business outcomes
