A leading global technology and digital publishing organization is seeking a Senior Web Application Engineer to join their engineering team. This team is responsible for building and supporting highly scalable, mission-critical web platforms that power content delivery, memberships, eCommerce, and digital services used by professionals and organizations worldwide. This engineering group focuses on developing custom front-end and back-end applications using modern technologies including WordPress, PHP, React, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and cloud-based integrations. The team is continuing to evolve its digital ecosystem and is seeking engineers passionate about scalability, performance, accessibility, and reliability.
Hybrid Schedule: 2 days onsite per week in Los Alamitos, CA
Required Skills & Experience
7-10+ years of experience building modern web applications
Strong experience with WordPress or Drupal and custom PHP development
Experience supporting high-traffic, enterprise-level websites and eCommerce platforms
Hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern UI frameworks (Tailwind is a plus)
Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services
Knowledge of system design, architecture patterns, and performance optimization
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead larger technical initiatives
Experience in digital publishing, membership platforms, events, or nonprofit environments is a plus
