Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer (Backend-Focused)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with a strong backend engineering focus to design, build, and deploy scalable machine learning solutions. This role is strictly for ML Engineers—not Data Scientists—and requires hands-on experience in production-grade systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

Candidates must be local to Florham Park, NJ and available for on-site or hybrid work as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend machine learning services and pipelines

• Build and maintain scalable APIs using FastAPI

• Develop robust ML solutions using Python for real-world production use cases

• Integrate ML models into backend systems and microservices

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform

• Collaborate with backend engineers, DevOps, and product teams

• Optimize model performance, reliability, and scalability in production environments

• Ensure best practices for code quality, testing, security, and deployment

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python

• Hands-on experience with FastAPI and API development

• Solid background in Backend Machine Learning Engineering

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform

• Strong understanding of deploying and maintaining ML models in production

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform preferred)

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with MLOps tools and workflows

• Experience working in high-scale or enterprise environments
