About the Role
Our firm is recruiting on behalf of a leading property and casualty insurance organization that serves millions of customers across personal, business, and specialty insurance markets. As a Peripheral Operator, you will play an important role in supporting high-volume document production, print operations, mail processing, and data center activities that help ensure accurate and timely delivery of critical business communications.
This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and interested in developing technical operations skills in a production, print, mail processing, or data center environment.
As a Peripheral Operator, you will support daily production activities within a data center, print center, or output processing environment. Working under the guidance of experienced team members, you will assist with operating production equipment, monitoring workflows, and ensuring quality control standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate computer peripheral equipment, including printers, inserters, finishing equipment, material handling systems, mail-processing machinery, and infrastructure support equipment.
- Monitor production workflows and complete assigned tasks according to established procedures and schedules.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, clear equipment jams, and complete operator-level maintenance activities.
- Assist in preparing production control reports and operational documentation.
- Maintain inventory records and outgoing product controls using automated systems and manual processes.
- Use computer terminals and software systems to queue work, update processing information, and respond to system messages.
- Complete manual document assembly, packaging, sorting, postage application, and related production tasks as required.
- Identify quality concerns, production exceptions, or equipment issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines and service-level expectations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to learn and operate computer peripheral hardware and production equipment.
- Basic computer skills and comfort working with automated systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Basic math skills used for inventory tracking, production counts, and product control activities.
- Ability to identify equipment issues, production discrepancies, and workflow exceptions.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented production environment.
- Ability to stand, move materials, and perform repetitive operational tasks as part of daily production activities.
- One (1) year of experience in a data center, print center, mail processing, manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
- Experience operating printers, inserters, finishing equipment, mail-processing machines, or related production equipment.
- Familiarity with basic equipment troubleshooting and operator-level maintenance.
- Experience working with production reporting systems, inventory controls, or workflow management tools.
- Understanding of quality control processes in a high-volume production environment.
- Experience supporting document production, fulfillment, or mail operations.
