Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics solutions for platform performance metrics. This is a hands-on technical role requiring demonstrated expertise across the full solution lifecycle from concept development and architecture definition through integration, deployment, and performance validation.

A successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of concepts within the field and related disciplines and will apply this knowledge to develop practical solutions to a range of complex problems. They will work under general direction, participating in determining assignment objectives and working independently to achieve goals. Their work will be reviewed at critical points, and they will exert some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.

The selected candidate will serve as a technical leader within a cross-functional engineering organization, driving sound architectural decisions while maintaining deep engagement in solution implementation. This position requires close collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, customer stakeholders, and program leadership to ensure all deliverables satisfy stakeholder requirements, cybersecurity constraints, and technical performance objectives.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement software solutions within large-scale, big-data ecosystems, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability

Translate complex stakeholder requirements into sound technical architectures, detailed design specifications, and executable development plans

Establish and enforce system technical standards and requirements across software, tooling, and data platforms

Develop proof-of-concept prototypes to validate design approaches and mitigate technical risk early in the program lifecycle

Lead and actively participate in formal design reviews, ensuring strict compliance with engineering standards and applicable cybersecurity controls.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Experience with Python, C++, C#, OOP, APIs, Design Patterns, Clean Architecture, and Test Driven Development

Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)

Experience using agile software development tools and methodologies (e.g. Git, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)

This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Secret clearance updated within the last 5 years to be considered.***

Desired skills

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Experience in scripting languages (e.g. python)

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with Agile SW Development and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

Data visualization with tools such as Tableau, Plotly Dash, and Python

Experience performing data manipulation and analysis development tasks of time-series data using NumPy and Pandas

Familiarity with Airborne Sensing/Tracking systems (e.g., Radar, Electronic Warfare, and/or Electro Optical).

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
