Neos is seeking a Database Admin for a long-term contract with our client in Austin, TX.

ONLY CANDIDATES LOCAL TO AUSTIN TEXAS NEED APPLY, ONSITE WED- FRIDAY

You will be working 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

OVERVIEW:
Enters codes to create production databases.
Selects and enters utility program codes to monitor database performance, including record distribution and available memory.
Directs programmers and analysts in making changes to database management systems.
Reviews and corrects programs.
Responds to user questions and provides technical assistance.
Collaborates with coworkers to determine the impact of database changes on other systems and estimate staffing costs.
Modifies database programs to improve processing performance through performance tuning.
Specializes in one or more database management systems.
Assists with the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems.
Ensures the conceptual and design phases of new applications align with the structural parameters of the database environment.
Evaluates user requests for new data elements and systems and incorporates them into the existing shared data environment.
Coordinates data usage to maintain data integrity and minimize redundancy.
Loads and reorganizes databases as needed.
Performs data modeling and prototyping.
Performs logical and physical data modeling.
Designs relational database models and creates physical models from logical data models.
Performs database security and recovery procedures.
Determines and implements database search strategies and storage requirements.
Maintains the data dictionary, ensures consistent definitions, and establishes data dictionary standards.
Monitors database performance and recommends efficiency improvements.
Creates test database environments for application teams, including required libraries and procedures.
Executes procedures to save, retrieve, and recover databases following hardware or software failures.
Assists with establishing, implementing, and enhancing database security standards.
Monitors agency disaster recovery procedures and systems.
Assists with database software installation and the analysis, design, and implementation of databases.
Assists with database benchmarking and threshold testing.
Helps establish and manage necessary database security controls.
Assists in selecting database management software.
Applies experience in computer systems analysis or computer programming.

Demonstrates knowledge of:

Computer programming and systems design principles, practices, and techniques

Computer operations, systems, and procedures

Project control and cost-estimation techniques

Computer programming languages

Data-processing flowcharting techniques

Database structures and theories

Current database technologies
Maintains working knowledge of Electronic and Information Resources (EIR) accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
Ensures database administration interfaces and tools used to input, view, and report data comply with accessibility standards.
Supports users in obtaining data and information when EIR accessibility issues arise.
