Systems Administrator / VMS Admin - Romulus, MI

DTS is looking for Systems Administrator / VMS Admin  for our direct client position in Romulus, MI

Role Overview
We are looking for a Systems Administrator with strong Video Management System experience to support airport-wide security surveillance platforms. This role will support the Technology Services team and focus on both implementation and ongoing administration of Genetec VMS, AXIS camera systems, and related infrastructure.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring experience with VMS platforms, CCTV camera systems, infrastructure troubleshooting, documentation, user support, and collaboration with IT teams across servers, networking, and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot Genetec Video Management System
• Manage Genetec architecture including Directory, Archiver, Media Gateway, and failover components
• Monitor system health, performance, and storage utilization
• Administer and troubleshoot AXIS camera systems
• Support and troubleshoot VMS infrastructure components
• Provide technical support for surveillance and security projects
• Partner with IT teams across servers, networking, and cybersecurity
• Train internal departments and users on VMS usage
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Manage user roles, permissions, and audit tracking
• Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotation

Education

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  OR
• High School diploma with at least 4 years of enterprise infrastructure experience, in addition to the required experience

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years administering Genetec Security Center Enterprise or another CCTV/VMS platform such as Milestone or ExacqVision
• 2+ years administering AXIS surveillance cameras or similar systems such as Pelco or Bosch
• 2+ years maintaining and troubleshooting VMS-related infrastructure

• Cisco or Dell switches
• Dell NAS storage
• Dell PowerEdge servers
• Windows Server 2019 or 2022
• VMware
• Microsoft SQL databases
• Camera, encoder, access control, analytics, or security system integrations
• Video streaming, encryption, recording, and retention best practices
• PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting tools
• Enterprise authentication and networking protocols
• ServiceNow or other ticketing systems
• AutoCAD or similar diagramming tools

Preferred Certifications

• Genetec Security Center
• AXIS Certified Professional
• Network+ or CCNA would be helpful, but not required
