Job description
Role Overview
The Construction Supervisor / Coordinator supports pharmaceutical construction projects, providing hands‑on field leadership for HVAC and piping scopes, with a strong emphasis on hygienic piping systems. This role operates similar to a Project Engineer or Owner’s Representative, with the authority and experience to identify problems early, diagnose specification gaps, and directly resolve execution issues in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on‑site supervision and coordination of HVAC and piping construction activities
Serve as an owner‑side or owner‑proxy field representative for mechanical scopes
Oversee installation, sequencing, and quality of hygienic piping systems (hard requirement) from owners rep perspective
Actively identify construction issues (“finger in the wound”) and drive resolution with contractors
Diagnose drawing, specification, and constructability issues directly in the field
Coordinate with subcontractors, QA, engineering, and project management teams
Support field inspections, punch list development, and closeout activities
Ensure construction execution aligns with pharma GMP expectations and project specifications
Required Experience
15–20 years of construction experience
Proven experience supporting pharmaceutical facilities (required)
Strong background in industrial construction environments
Hygienic piping experience – mandatory (clean utilities, process piping, sanitary systems)
Experience functioning similarly to a Project Engineer, Construction Coordinator, or Owner’s Rep
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot field issues and interpret specifications in real time
Skill Set
Deep understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical piping installation
Strong field judgment and problem‑solving capability
Ability to challenge incomplete or flawed designs during construction
Comfortable working directly with trades and construction leadership
High level of ownership and accountability in the field
Notes
This is a field‑driven role, not design‑only
Emphasis is on diagnosing and fixing issues during construction, not just reporting them
