Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has an enterprise client that is seeking a Systems Engineer in North Reading, MA.

Summary:
We are building hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test infrastructure to support automated on-robot software deployment and validation ahead of Q4 field-release readiness. This role owns test environment configuration, automated test execution, fault injection, and requirements-to-test traceability for our HIL bench program.

Responsibilities:
* Build and configure repeatable HIL test setups and validation environments for on-robot software deployment and regression testing
* Develop test automation using Python and scripting to scale test execution and reduce manual validation effort
* Build test cases to run manually on the physical robotic floor
* Author and maintain test cases with defined pass/fail criteria and requirements traceability using TestRail, Jama, or equivalent tooling
* Perform fault injection testing and hands-on validation using standard test instrumentation
* Support defect analysis, root cause investigation, and structured test evidence capture for release readiness
* Collaborate with on-robot software, robot integration, and lab operations teams to define test coverage and close coverage gaps

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years hands-on HIL/SIL test environment development and validation
* Strong Python, MATLAB, or equivalent test automation experience
* Experience with requirements and test case management tooling such as Jama, DOORS NG, TestRail, or similar
* Familiarity with fault injection methodology and test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and DMMs
* Safety-critical system validation background (ISO 26262, ASPICE, or equivalent) a plus
* Robotics or ROS background not required but a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
