Systems Administrator

Project Details

DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement). DFARS is a set of cybersecurity regulations that the Department of Defense (DoD) now imposes on external contractors and suppliers. Our DFARS team will first be responsible for locating and entering unclassified labs, performing inventory of all unclassified devices/systems. The labs can consist of one device to many and either all will be on the network, mostly on the network, or completely air gapped. The team will receive information from leadership as well as over 100+ parameters from the government to develop a plan, initiate the security/governance plan, and then guide the role into a steady state where they are just working on maintaining, testing, patching where needed to stay DFARS compliant. The environment consists of mostly Windows devices/systems.

Team Responsibilities
  • Answers complex technical questions
  • Leads efforts in facilitating problem recreation and failure analysis of systems level issues
  • Analyzes customer technical problems with respect to business, operational and financial areas of customer service and has responsibility for making decisions relating to these issues
  • Work with internal resources in terms of setting time requirements; ensures suitable level of service personnel and activity during problem resolution at all locations
  • Prepares and presents key business issues to senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction
  • Gains support and commitment from others and mobilizes people to take action Enables sales by positioning solutions to protect product image
  • Maintains direct linkage into other key internal organizations necessary for fast problem escalation, expedited resolution status and to prioritize product defects and issues


Qualifications
  • The individual will be required to lift up to 35 pounds as they will be helping to deploy new desktop hardware, including desktops, monitors, and other computing equipment.
  • Experienced deploying and installing operating systems, primarily Windows.
  • Experience with Windows Server technologies, including domain administration, GPO, and virtualization.
  • Has some moderate experience deploying or installing operating systems following standard work instructions.
  • Has experience maintaining Windows servers using standard work processes.
  • Familiar with cyber security tools such as anti-virus, firewall, and network security.
  • ESX experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience with network routing to enhance system security.
  • Primarily work with Windows. Linux experience at the basic level helpful.
  • Windows certifications preferred but not required
  • Experience working in common ITSM ticketing systems like ServiceNow to handle tickets and ensure service requests are addressed in a timely manner, meeting established metrics and SLAs
