Epic Data Conversion Developer

Job Title: Epic Data Conversion Developer – 3M SoftMed to Epic
Type: Contract 
Location: Remote, USA. (EST hours preferred)
Duration: 3-6 months project to start

Role Summary:

Urgent need for a technical resource to build data migration/conversion from 3M SoftMed to Epic. You will extract clinical data from 3M SoftMed on MS SQL Server and deliver it to Epic in Epic-ready formats.

Key Responsibilities:

Extract data from 3M SoftMed – MS SQL Server backend. Must understand SoftMed data model/tables

Build HL7 v2.5.1 messages – Transform SoftMed data into HL7 for ingestion into Epic. Convert documents/images – Take scanned images/PDFs from SoftMed and convert to BASE64 Encapsulated PDFs for Epic Gallery

Unit test & validate – Ensure data loads cleanly into Epic with no patient/data mismatch

Work with Epic + HIM teams – Troubleshoot mapping, encoding, and ingestion issues

Required Skills – Must-Haves

3M SoftMed experience – Must know SoftMed database schema on MS SQL Server  HL7 v2.5.1 development – Hands-on building HL7 messages, not just interface engine config  BASE64 encoding – Experience converting images/scans/PDFs to BASE64 Encapsulated format for Epic  MS SQL Server – Strong T-SQL, stored procs, data extraction  Epic conversions – Prior project moving data INTO Epic, familiar with Epic Gallery/HIM module requirement
