Tekberry is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer III (Equipment Integration Lead) to support the planning, installation, startup, and integration of manufacturing equipment within an advanced manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary liaison between engineering, operations, facilities, automation, quality, maintenance, and external vendors to ensure equipment is safely commissioned and fully operational.

Position Summary

The Equipment Integration Lead is responsible for executing end-to-end equipment integration projects, from initial planning and design through installation, commissioning, and turnover to production teams. This position requires strong technical expertise, project leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting equipment integration projects, troubleshooting complex manufacturing systems, and collaborating across multiple disciplines to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Integration & Project Execution
  • Lead equipment integration projects from concept through design, installation, commissioning, and handoff to qualification teams.
  • Define equipment requirements, project scope, timelines, milestones, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including manufacturing, process engineering, facilities, quality, automation, maintenance, EHS, and supply chain.
  • Ensure equipment compatibility with existing facility infrastructure, utilities, automation platforms, and production processes.
  • Manage project risks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to achieve successful outcomes.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for equipment vendors throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), installation activities, troubleshooting efforts, and equipment acceptance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate project status, escalate issues, and align priorities.
Equipment Startup & Troubleshooting
  • Oversee equipment setup, startup, testing, and performance optimization activities.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions related to equipment performance issues.
  • Drive issue resolution during equipment installation and production ramp-up phases.
  • Support production teams during commissioning and operational transitions.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including:
    • Equipment specifications
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Work instructions
    • Change controls
    • Risk assessments
    • Turnover packages
  • Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, throughput, uptime, and maintainability.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize data analysis to identify trends and drive process improvements.
  • Support training efforts related to newly integrated equipment and systems.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
Experience
  • Several years of experience supporting:
    • Equipment engineering
    • Equipment integration
    • Manufacturing engineering
    • Capital project execution
    • Production scale-up initiatives
  • Experience leading equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional projects in manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and facilities integration processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex equipment interactions and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with equipment design and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Data Analysis Skills

Experience utilizing analytical tools and methodologies such as:
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • JMP
  • Minitab
  • R
  • OriginPro
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting regulated or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
    • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
    • Installation Qualification (IQ)
    • Operational Qualification (OQ)
    • Performance Qualification (PQ)
  • Experience utilizing:
    • CMMS systems
    • ERP systems
    • Engineering documentation systems
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
