CMK Resources is hiring for a Commvault Implementation Specialist to support Commvault’s Implementation Excellence Team.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled Commvault engineer who thrives in complex enterprise environments and wants to play a key role in delivering world-class implementation services.
As part of Commvault’s Implementation Excellence team, you will provide dedicated technical leadership across Professional Services engagements, supporting enterprise customers through deployments, expansions, optimizations, and ongoing resident support. This role blends hands-on engineering expertise with client-facing consultative engagement — ideal for a senior-level backup professional who takes pride in delivering precision, performance, and measurable customer impact.
Professional Services Projects are Time and Material engagements that may be performed for multiple Commvault customers at Commvault’s request. While Commvault intends the Engineer to be fully utilized each week, service days may not be consecutively worked. CMK and the assigned Engineer understand there may be pauses in service delivery between engagement phases.
What You’ll Do
Implementation & Customer Engagement
Interface directly with Commvault clients to review, guide, and expand deployments
Work under the direction of Commvault’s Sales Team and client stakeholders
Validate all Commvault-completed tasks to ensure accurate and fully optimized final configurations
Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the implementation lifecycle
Assist team members across ongoing engagements
Provide detailed daily status reporting during active engagements
Set up and configure Live Sync
Support enterprise-scale and hybrid (on-prem/cloud) deployments
Resident Support & Technical Administration
Perform day-to-day administration of enterprise Commvault environments
Review daily backup reports, remediate failures, and continuously improve job success rates
Collect, analyze, and document current-state Commvault architecture
Review and align customer policies and procedures with Commvault best practices
Troubleshoot and optimize backup and restore throughput performance
Design solutions for complex data movement challenges (WAN backups, hybrid architectures, large-scale environments)
Take full ownership of technical issues and drive tickets to resolution
Assist with deployment and adoption of new Commvault software features
What You Bring
5+ years of Backup Administration experience (strong preference for Commvault)
Hands-on implementation and troubleshooting experience in enterprise Commvault environments
Practical expertise in:
Data and information lifecycle management
Disaster recovery planning and execution
Performance tuning and optimization
Experience with enterprise infrastructure:
Advanced Windows Server administration and troubleshooting experience
Virtualization experience in complex, distributed, or clustered environments:
VMware
Hyper-V
Citrix XenServer
Familiarity with major cloud infrastructure providers
Exposure to other enterprise backup platforms (Symantec, EMC, IBM, CA, HP, etc.)
Strong analytical and logical troubleshooting capabilities
Ability to communicate highly technical information in clear business terms to executive stakeholders
Self-sufficient work style with strong documentation and remote collaboration skills
Nice to Have Skills (Huge Plus)
