Job Title: Duck Creek Policy Architect / Lead
Location: Remote (USA)
Job Type: Full-Time Preferred / Contract-to-Hire (C2H)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Duck Creek Policy Architect / Lead to design, architect, and lead the implementation of Duck Creek Policy solutions for Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Duck Creek Policy Administration, solution architecture, policy configuration, integrations, and leading technical teams through end-to-end implementations.
This role requires a strong understanding of P&C insurance products, Duck Creek best practices, and modern integration technologies to deliver scalable, high-quality policy administration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Duck Creek Policy Administration solutions.
- Design scalable and reusable solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Configure and customize Duck Creek Policy components, including products, rules, workflows, forms, and rating integrations.
- Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and solution architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and develop integrations between Duck Creek and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, messaging, and middleware.
- Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, estimation, and implementation planning.
- Review code, enforce development standards, and mentor developers.
- Support deployment activities, production releases, and post-production issue resolution.
- Drive technical best practices, performance optimization, and application scalability.
- Work closely with QA and business teams during SIT, UAT, and production validation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Duck Creek Policy Administration.
- Strong experience as a Duck Creek Technical Lead or Solution Architect.
- Deep understanding of Duck Creek architecture and configuration.
- Experience with Duck Creek Author, Express, Product Studio, and related components.
- Strong knowledge of P&C Insurance (Personal Lines or Commercial Lines).
- Experience designing complex policy administration solutions.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, SOAP services, and system integrations.
- Experience with SQL Server and relational databases.
- Knowledge of C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, XML, XSLT, and JSON.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and source control.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Duck Creek Policy certification(s).
- Experience with Duck Creek OnDemand (Cloud).
- Experience with Duck Creek Billing and Claims integration.
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Experience leading offshore/onshore teams.
- Guidewire experience is a plus
