Position: SAP Datasphere / SAP Data Spear
Location: Remote (USA & Canada)
Duration: Long term contract
Role Summary
An SAP Datasphere (sometimes referred to as SAP Data Spear in some organizations) professional is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions using SAP s cloud-native data management platform. The primary focus is to unify, model, integrate, and deliver enterprise data for analytics, reporting, and AI-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Modeling & Architecture
Design and develop semantic data models and analytical views in SAP Datasphere.
Build Fact Views, Analytic Models, replication and transformation flows.
Data Integration
Integrate data from SAP systems (e.g., S/4HANA), BW/4HANA, and non-SAP sources.
Perform data federation, replication, and transformation workflows.
Data Governance & Security
Implement data access controls and governance best practices.
Ensure data quality, lineage documentation, and compliance.
Analytics & Reporting Enablement
Enable consumption by reporting tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Power BI, or others.
Collaboration
Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
Optimization & Support
Troubleshoot, optimize performance, document data solutions, and support deployment activities.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Skills
Experience with SAP Datasphere (Data Warehouse Cloud) or equivalent SAP data platform.
Strong data modeling, SQL, and ETL/ELT skills.
Understanding of SAP HANA, BW/4HANA, and SAP Data Services concepts.
Familiarity with data pipelines, replication flows, federation, and analytics views.
Tools & Technologies
SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Data integration tools (SDI, CPI-DS, etc.)
Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) sometimes required in advanced roles.
Soft Skills
Good communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Problem-solving and analytical mindset.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor s or Master s in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, or related field
3 8+ years of experience in data platforms, analytics, or SAP environments
Hands-on experience with Datasphere / SAP HANA / SAP BW environments
