Job Description 2027 Spring Engineering or Metallurgy Co-op, TIMET Toronto, OH(Paid, with housing stipend)We have opportunities within Materials Engineering and Metallurgical Laboratory functions supporting characterization, testing, and continuous improvement activities.
A minimum of a 3-month assignment.
Engineering Co-Op SummaryPartner with engineers and laboratory personnel to support materials characterization, technical documentation, and laboratory operations.
Essential Functions- Assist with operation of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipment and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Support metallurgical characterization, testing, and data collection activities.
- Assist in developing, documenting, and revising laboratory procedures, work instructions, and technical standards.
- Analyze test results and prepare technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities- Work with engineers and laboratory personnel to support ongoing materials investigations and development projects.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
QualificationsCompetencies- Basic knowledge of engineering or materials science principles.
- Technical writing and documentation skills.
- Computer and data analysis skills.
Education and ExperienceEnrolled and completed 2+ years accredited university in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
