Job Description

2027 Spring Engineering or Metallurgy Co-op, TIMET Toronto, OH

(Paid, with housing stipend)

We have opportunities within Materials Engineering and Metallurgical Laboratory functions supporting characterization, testing, and continuous improvement activities.

A minimum of a 3-month assignment.

Engineering Co-Op Summary

Partner with engineers and laboratory personnel to support materials characterization, technical documentation, and laboratory operations.

Essential Functions
  • Assist with operation of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipment and other laboratory instrumentation.
  • Support metallurgical characterization, testing, and data collection activities.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and revising laboratory procedures, work instructions, and technical standards.
  • Analyze test results and prepare technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Work with engineers and laboratory personnel to support ongoing materials investigations and development projects.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.

Qualifications

Competencies
  • Basic knowledge of engineering or materials science principles.
  • Technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Computer and data analysis skills.

Education and Experience

Enrolled and completed 2+ years accredited university in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
