7233 - Senior WebMethods Integration Developer (Must Reside in Sacramento to be Considered)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior WebMethods Integration Developer to support enterprise integration initiatives within a large and complex IT environment. The selected consultant will design, develop, and maintain APIs and system integrations connecting critical business applications, cloud platforms, and third-party systems.
This role requires deep expertise with the Software AG webMethods platform, SAP integrations, API development, and custom Java service development. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
API Development
- Design and develop RESTful and SOAP web service APIs.
- Develop integrations between enterprise applications including ERP, GIS, asset management, project controls, and document management systems.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SAML.
- Create and maintain API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger standards.
- Manage API versioning and lifecycle governance.
Enterprise Integration Development
- Design and implement integrations between legacy, cloud, and third-party systems.
- Develop middleware solutions and reusable integration services.
- Build event-driven and asynchronous integration solutions.
- Implement robust error handling, monitoring, logging, and transactional controls.
Security & Compliance
- Apply cybersecurity best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support secure API gateways, encryption, and vulnerability mitigation efforts.
- Maintain audit trails and transaction logging for integration activities.
Performance & Reliability
- Design scalable, highly available integration solutions.
- Establish performance benchmarks and optimize system throughput.
- Support ongoing reliability and operational excellence initiatives.
Testing & Documentation
- Develop and execute unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Support automated regression testing.
- Produce technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing solutions on the Software AG webMethods platform.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with webMethods.IO (Cloud Integration).
- Proven experience developing SAP RFC integrations.
- Strong Java development experience, including custom integration services.

- Experience developing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
- Experience working with JSON and XML data formats.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with webMethods Test Suite and Trading Networks.
- Software AG webMethods certifications.
- MuleSoft, AWS, Azure Integration, PMP, or related certifications.
- Experience supporting public sector, utility, or energy organizations.
- Knowledge of identity and access management and secure software development practices.
- Experience implementing cybersecurity best practices within enterprise integration environments.
