job summary:

We are seeking a driven Mechatronics Test Engineer to join our robotics and automation team in North Reading, MA. In this role, you will design, commission, and execute verification and validation test programs for next-generation hardware and software systems. You will play a vital part in transforming raw sensor and actuator measurement data into actionable engineering insights that directly influence product design.

responsibilities:

• Design, commission, and operate test benches for robotic subsystems, including actuators, batteries, sensors, and cameras.
• Develop functional specifications, test procedures, and comprehensive verification strategies for complex integrated systems.
• Collect, process, and analyze test measurement data to establish core performance metrics.
• Create detailed technical test reports comparing test outputs against product requirements to guide the design cycle.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through to full production.

qualifications:

Proven experience creating functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures for hardware/software systems.

Background in developing test strategies for complex mechatronic systems or systems-of-systems.

Demonstrated ability to define test plans and navigate test development within high-ambiguity, fast-paced environments.

Hands-on experience operating lab equipment, instrumentation, and specialized test rigs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience managing technical projects and coordinating cross-functional engineering deliverables.

Background in sourcing, selecting, and setting up third-party lab testing equipment.
