Senior Network Engineer – Cisco, F5 LTM & Azure, Hybrid Networking
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Network Engineer to support and modernize a hybrid enterprise network spanning on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure. This role will focus on Cisco enterprise networking, F5 LTM load balancing, and Azure networking services, with responsibility for reliability, security, performance, and operational readiness in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable troubleshooting production network issues, managing load balancers,
supporting hybrid connectivity, and partnering with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams on migrations and modernization efforts.
Responsibilities
• Operate and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Manage and support F5 LTM services, including VIPs, pools, nodes, monitors, SSL profiles, certificates, persistence, and HA/failover.
• Design, support, and troubleshoot Azure networking, including VNets, peering, NSGs, UDRs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Private Link, and DNS integration.
• Support hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and Azure using ExpressRoute, site-to-site VPN, IPsec, and BGP routing.
• Lead network patching, firmware upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents involving routing, load balancing, firewall rules, DNS, certificates, and application connectivity.
• Maintain accurate diagrams, network inventory, IP addressing, configuration standards, and operational documentation.
• Partner with InfoSec to support PCI compliance, segmentation, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.
• Support cloud migration initiatives by validating connectivity, routing, firewall flows, and application dependencies.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical network incidents.
Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise routing and switching.
• Experience with routing protocols and network fundamentals, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, NAT, ACLs, DNS, and IPsec.
• Hands-on F5 LTM experience, including virtual servers, pools, health monitors, SSL offload, certificates, and troubleshooting.
• Practical Azure networking experience, including VNets, peering, NSGs, UDRs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and hybrid routing.
• Experience supporting production enterprise networks in a high-availability environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot across network, cloud, security, and application teams.
• Strong documentation, communication, and ownership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Private Link, Private DNS, or Azure Virtual WAN.
• VMware networking or NSX exposure.
• PCI, financial services, healthcare, government, or other regulated environment experience.
• Automation experience with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, F5-CA/F5-CTS, or Microsoft AZ-700.
