Summary

Description

The Assistant Visualization Technician will assist with laser scanning and reality capture activities to support engineering, design, and construction projects. This individual will work collaboratively with project teams to capture existing conditions, process scan data, and prepare accurate point cloud and visualization deliverables for project coordination and decision-making.

Assist in planning and performing laser scanning at project sites, including coordinating site access, equipment setup, and scan coverage with project teams.
Assist with registering, cleaning, and processing laser scan data to develop coordinated point clouds for use in design and construction workflows.
Review scan data for completeness, alignment, and quality under the direction of experienced team members, and identify areas requiring additional capture.
Assist in preparing and integrating point clouds and related reality capture assets into modeling, coordination, and visualization software.
Support project teams in using scan data to evaluate existing conditions, coordinate design interfaces, and communicate project constraints.
Organize and maintain scan files, project documentation, and deliverables in accordance with company and project standards.
Assist with the care, maintenance, and transportation of laser scanning equipment.
Travel to project sites as required and comply with applicable site safety requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and course work in drafting technology required.
Basic knowledge of commands in at least one CAD program; ability to occasionally use higher-level commands, time saving programs and routines.
Basic knowledge and experience in multiple CAD systems preferred (including 3D and BIM).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work in collaborative team environment.
Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
Ability to meet deadlines and budget.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
