Job Title: Junior Azure Cloud Administrator

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6+ Months

Position Summary:

• The Junior Cloud Administrator plays a critical role in deploying, and managing secure, scalable, and resilient Microsoft Azure environments. This position requires a foundation in Azure networking and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), including virtual networks, gateways, firewalls, load balancers, and storage services. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with monitoring and automation tools, identity management through Azure Entra ID, and integration with platforms like Zabbix and Azure DevOps. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of cloud infrastructure from initial client engagement and solution design to deployment, monitoring, cost optimization, and documentation. In addition, the engineer ensures secure access, disaster recovery preparedness, and ongoing system performance through proactive monitoring and automation. Candidates should demonstrate technical depth, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive mindset, along with a collaborative spirit to work across teams and with clients. This position also emphasizes a commitment to security best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities:

• Help create and maintain VDI Images for current and upcoming clients.
• Technical proficiency - guide the team directionally on technical decisions, not required to be the expert on all things but in-depth knowledge on most technologies utilized by the organization is expected.
• Process resource guide the team on processes that should be followed, create processes where needed and discard unneeded processes.
• Work with the Vice President of Digital Engagement and Enterprise Security to ensure proper work coverage on projects, normal tasks, processes, and tickets. Crises that come up may require solo, previously not discussed decisions and/or substantial priority changes. At the next sensible opportunity, steps to rectify the 1 crisis should be discussed with the Vice President of Digital Engagement and Enterprise Security.
• Compliance while working with members of the team, reinforce that we are adhering to our requirements for delivering secured endpoints for agents that meet PCI and HIPAA security requirements and that we are meeting our corporate process and policy requirements.
• Build and maintain the cloud telephony system out for any client that requires it.
• Manage the company s Active Directory. Create and remove credentials in all the companies tools. Help update and maintain the companies Security groups and policies
• Trains employees and department leaders on how to use organizations tools and systems currently in use as well as new systems, tools and applications.
• Development of employee recognition programs, to include tenure recognition. Ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of programs, policies and best practices, sending proposals for recommended improvement to Vice President of Digital Engagement and Enterprise Security for review and escalated approvals when appropriate.
• Perform tasks required to administer and execute IT functions including but not limited to add/change/remove users, email setup and use, and virtual desktop build/setup and use.
• Conducts internal investigations and makes decisions in partnership with supervisors based on investigation outcome. Proposes solutions and provides education on industry best practices.
• Handles technology-related inquiries and concerns from employees and supervisors. Uses independent judgement to resolve these matters for the business.
• Handles inquiries from internal employees and corporate contractors referring to complex and/or sensitive matters program-specific inquiries to the appropriate resource.
• Independently conduct internal investigations, using their own judgement when engaging different parties to uncover information and resolve the issue(s). Educating supervisors as appropriate regarding GBA system requirements, procedures and working with organizations tools, all while driving fair treatment for all employees.
• Support and maintain compliance with applicable standards and company certifications as well as client contracts, regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of compliance-related tasks, including internal and external audits, evidence gathering, and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the DBA & Data Architect and security teams to assess technical controls and ensure data privacy and integrity.
• Help translate strategic security objectives into enforceable procedures and actionable operational policies.
• Contribute to the development, review, and regular updating of security protocols, policies, and training programs.
• Lead security awareness training for staff to foster a culture of accountability and compliance.
• Participate in incident response efforts by assisting with root cause investigations and helping implement preventive measures.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in Azure networking and infrastructure services:
• Virtual Networks (V-NETs), subnets, and peering.
• VPN Gateway for secure hybrid connections.
• Virtual Gateway for cross-premises connectivity.
• Azure Firewall for traffic control.
• Load Balancers for high availability.
• Private Endpoints and DNS Zones for secure network access.
• Azure Virtual Desktop

Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS:

• Storage Accounts with advanced features like lifecycle management, encryption, and access tiers.
• Managed Disks and Snapshots for virtual machine storage.
• Virtual Machine Scale Sets and Availability Sets.
• Familiarity with deploying, configuring, and monitoring systems using Zabbix, including integration with Azure resources.

Proficiency in Azure Entra ID, including:

• Conditional Access Policies.
• Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Identity Protection and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
• Automation and scripting expertise, including PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Familiarity with Azure monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Network Watcher.
