We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our client's technology team in Plano, TX or McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot, designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices, and deploying scalable solutions in AWS environments.
This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who can contribute across application development, cloud technologies, automated software delivery, and production support within a highly regulated enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop scalable and secure RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Build and integrate cloud-native applications and services using AWS.
- Develop solutions that are scalable, highly available, secure, and maintainable.
- Work with UNIX/Linux environments for application development, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, deployment, and software delivery.
- Apply automated testing and engineering best practices to improve software quality and delivery velocity.
- Troubleshoot application, API, infrastructure, and production issues and provide effective solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical standards, documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Help modernize legacy applications and transition services toward cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
- Proven experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated software delivery.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and enterprise application architecture.
- Experience with automated testing and modern software development practices.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications and high-availability systems.
