Senior Network Inventory SME

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Network Inventory Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large-scale OSS transformation initiative for a leading North American service provider in Armonk, NY. This program involves migrating legacy OSS platforms to a modern inventory ecosystem while simultaneously executing high-volume circuit grooming across TDM, optical, and packet networks.

Summary:
This role sits at the intersection of network engineering, OSS inventory integrity, and automation. You will play a critical role in resolving provisioning fallout, ensuring inventory accuracy, and enabling scalable, AI-assisted operational workflows. We are looking for true SMEs who can operate in war room environments, trace circuits end-to-end, and stabilize inventory during large-scale network change.

Key Focus:
* Resolve provisioning fallout from TDM/Ethernet/Wavelength migrations
* Troubleshoot -ghost/stuck- circuits across Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks
* Ensure inventory accuracy in Blue Planet Inventory (BPI) and reconcile with TIRKS/PRO/ARM
* Perform RCA on failed provisioning and activation workflows
* Support automation and AI Ops (Blue Planet AI Studio) by defining SOPs and repeatable logic

REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience: 8+ years in telecom networking, OSS inventory, or transport engineering roles

Transport & Networking Expertise:
* Strong hands-on experience with TDM hierarchy (DS0, DS1, DS3, STS-1, OC-n)
* Deep understanding of SONET/SDH, DWDM, and packet-based transport
* Experience grooming legacy circuits onto Ethernet, OTN, or wavelength services

OSS & Inventory Systems:
* Strong experience with inventory/design/assign systems
* Familiarity with Blue Planet Inventory (preferred)
* Working knowledge of legacy platforms such as TIRKS, PRO, or ARM

Circuit Standards & Processes:
* Proficiency in Telecordia/Common Language standards (ECCKT, CLCI, ASR workflows)

Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills:
* Proven ability to trace complex circuit paths and diagnose provisioning failures
* Strong root cause analysis and cross-system debugging experience

Nice to Have:
* OSS migration/transformation experience
* PRO, ARM(AMDOCS), TIRKS inventory knowledge
* Blue Planet Inventory knowledge
* Python or automation exposure
* AI/automation workflow experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
