Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead II – Software Testing professional with strong experience in EMV certification, payment device testing, and retail Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. The ideal candidate will lead certification and testing activities for mobile checkout/payment devices, work with payment authorizers, execute certification test cases, troubleshoot device and environment issues, and ensure successful completion of certification requirements.

This role requires strong hands-on testing experience combined with the ability to coordinate testing activities, manage test deliverables, analyze defects, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead EMV certification and payment device testing activities across multiple devices and payment authorizers.
  • Execute, validate, troubleshoot, and re-test certification scenarios until successful completion.
  • Perform functional testing of credit card and payment transactions within retail POS environments.
  • Work with payment devices and support device setup, configuration, and certification activities.
  • Utilize Collis certification/testing tools to execute and validate test cases.
  • Work with Ingenico payment devices and troubleshoot transaction/device-related issues.
  • Create and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and traceability documentation.
  • Prepare test estimates, schedules, execution plans, and identify testing dependencies.
  • Ensure adequate test coverage based on business requirements, user stories, interfaces, and end-to-end workflows.
  • Coordinate test environment and test data requirements with relevant teams.
  • Track testing progress, defects, risks, issues, and dependencies and provide regular status reporting.
  • Prepare test results, defect reports, test logs, test summary reports, and other testing evidence.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and identify preventive/corrective measures for recurring defects.
  • Analyze defect trends, leakage, acceptance ratios, execution coverage, and other QA metrics.
  • Review requirements, identify gaps, prioritize scenarios, and develop Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • Participate in requirement reviews, walkthroughs, demonstrations, and stakeholder sign-offs.
  • Work closely with development, DevOps, product, and other technical teams to resolve testing issues.
  • Support continuous testing initiatives and contribute to automation/performance testing where applicable.
  • Identify testing risks and develop appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly stakeholder and governance meetings and communicate testing status, risks, and issues.
  • Promote testing best practices, standards, reusable test assets, and continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in EMV certification and payment device testing.
  • Experience with retail Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Experience testing credit card, debit card, and payment transactions.
  • Hands-on experience with Collis certification/testing tools.
  • Experience working with Ingenico payment devices.
  • Strong functional testing and test management experience.
  • Experience creating test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test schedules, and test reports.
  • Experience with defect management, defect analysis, and RCA.
  • Strong understanding of test coverage, test estimation, risk identification, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining RTM and testing metrics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting Walmart or large-scale retail POS environments.
  • Experience with mobile checkout or payment devices.
  • Knowledge of payment authorization and transaction certification processes.
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks and continuous testing practices.
  • Experience working with DevOps teams and CI/CD-based QA processes.
  • Experience coordinating testing activities across multiple teams.
